New Education Initiative Seeks to Improve Clinical Trial Access and Education for Underserved Communities
Clinical research brings hope for those diagnosed with cancer and a host of other diseases, yet lack of diversity in clinical trials hampers these efforts and furthers healthcare inequities. Together, National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer centers, LUNGevity Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer, and PlatformQ Health have forged a collaboration to unearth innovative and effective strategies to improve diversity in oncology clinical trials.

This collaboration aims to tackle these issues with the following strategies. Which do you think is the best way to improve diversity in clinical trials?

  1. Online patient education focused on the value of clinical trials
  2. Community recruitment for people who are underserved
  3. Educating clinicians about communication gaps
  4. Sharing previous clinical trial participant testimonials

Read more about these strategies in our latest article, Promoting Equity in Lung Cancer Clinical Trials.

New Patient Education Program: Are Clinical Trials Right for Me?
The collaboration’s first endeavor is a free, one-hour patient education video called, “Are Clinical Trials Right for Me?” The program addresses the most commonly asked questions and concerns about participating in a clinical trial and also explores the immediate and long-term benefits to participating in a clinical trial.

New Partnership to Offer Digital Kidney Disease Education for Clinicians, Patients, and Providers
Chronic kidney disease often goes unrecognized by patients and providers. That’s why KDIGO and PlatformQ Health teamed up to reach hundreds of thousands of clinicians and millions of patients with impactful patient and provider education to help improve health outcomes for those living with or at risk of chronic kidney disease.

The GBS|CIDP Virtual 2021 Summit hosted on PlatformQ Health’s Conduit Platform
For the second year in a row, we are supporting our long-time partner the GBS|CIDP Foundation International, hosting their two-day global virtual summit on our proprietary engagement and education platform, Conduit. This center of virtual engagement is strengthening the Foundations’ patient and provider community through self-service webcast and chat tools, engagement tracking and reporting, strategic consulting, and support services along with an enduring digital footprint.

World Muscle Society 2021 Virtual Congress: DMD Education Yields Positive Outcomes
PlatformQ Health, Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, and the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) produced a live, 60-minute CME session featuring a neurologist, pulmonologist, genetic counselor, and a patient advocate who address gaps in understanding mutation-specific treatments. Of the 385 learners who participated in the course, 64% reported a positive impact of the education on their clinical practice and 57% reported a positive impact on patient satisfaction.
