A Look Back on 2022 – Connecting patients, providers, and caregivers through education

As we reflect on the past year, we are particularly grateful for the connections we made with our partners, supporters, and colleagues. These connections helped us develop meaningful patient and provider education that impacted 22 million patients.

Moving the needle in healthcare requires a collaborative approach to drive real behavior change among patients and providers. We believe these changes have the power to transform quality of life for each patient.

Four-part CME Series Empowers Clinicians Caring for Patients with Rare Diseases

In collaboration with our partners, the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) and Children’s National Hospital, we produced a four-part educational series to help providers develop rare disease diagnosis and testing strategies, provide culturally competent care, create a patient-centered medical rare disease home, and gain additional support mechanisms.

“Providing rare disease education for primary and family healthcare professionals can help relieve the often long and arduous diagnostic odyssey and improve care for patients closer to home through a collaborative care model with rare disease specialists.”

– Katie Kowakski, MPH,  Associate Director of Education, NORD

Engaging and Educating Rare Disease and Cancer Patients Online through Financial Literacy

This is particularly relevant in rare diseases and cancer,  exacerbating health issues and causing mounting anxiety. See how offering digital education to patients on these topics can build a positive brand experience.

Advancing the Patient’s Role in CME/CE

What role does the patient voice play in CME? Typically, CME/CE programs have relied heavily on the  presentation of clinical data, which is extremely valuable, but augmenting that information with the patient voice can humanize the data. The thoughtful inclusion of the patient voice in clinician education has a multifaceted impact on engaged learners.
