Kathryn Pucci joins PlatformQ Health as Senior Vice President of Education

PlatformQ Health, the leading provider of live online medical education, today announces that Kathryn Pucci joins the team as Senior Vice President of Education. Pucci most recently served as Senior Vice President of Education for the National Kidney Foundation, where she led the organization’s educational initiatives. Prior to the National Kidney Foundation, she oversaw editorial and educational curriculum integration from multiple acquired companies across more than 30 therapeutic sites at MedScape (WebMD). Ms. Pucci is also an advocate for meaningful educational and cross-functional collaboration, as she serves on the committee of the PFMD (Patient Focused Medicines Development Initiative), a global collaboration to understand, improve and standardize patient engagement. The wealth of experience Pucci brings in creating approachable, rigorous medical education across a variety of therapeutic areas will be applied directly to her new role, where she will be responsible for expanding and enhancing patient-oriented educational offerings across the PlatformQ Health network.

In recent years, emphasis on including patients and caregivers in treatment plans has increased dramatically. Many patient advocacy organizations, businesses, insurers, payers and other healthcare stakeholders have realized the need for patient engagement as a critical component of ensuring progress in health outcomes in a value-based delivery system; but the creation of education by and for patients to help them lean into managing their health has not kept pace. With this in mind, Pucci will guide the expansion of PlatformQ Health’s online, interactive patient education offerings and spearhead key relationships with leading patient advocacy organizations and trusted medical faculty to align one of the leading online CME platforms to the needs of patients and caregivers.

“When a person is diagnosed with a new condition, it can be a scary and isolating experience. I’m thrilled to join PlatformQ Health and its growing network of partners to develop and deliver aligned medical education to patients and their support networks, while measuring impact of that education for partners and supporters,” said Pucci. “The live-online education we produce and distribute offers unprecedented access to the nation’s leading medical experts, top advocacy organizations and other patient perspectives. Interactive online programs allow patients to get feedback and advice they want from experts in real time, leveling the playing field of access to information and guidance no matter their location or financial resource. Rural or urban, wealthy or not, these free programs enable PlatformQ Health’s ability to digitally empower patients and caregivers, and will, I believe, help shift patient outcomes and the progression of their disease.”

PlatformQ Health has released patient programs ranging from B-cell NHL to diabetes, and Pseudobulbar Affect Disorder to bladder cancer, partnering with premier patient advocacy organizations and centers of excellence to ensure that the content is designed for patients and shared with those who need it most. Pucci will lead and expand on these partnerships, increasing and improving patient programming in months to come.

“We are so pleased to welcome Kathryn to the team,” remarked PlatformQ Health CEO Robert Rosenbloom. “Her knowledge and experience will be key as we further commit ourselves to helping our disease community partners improve outcomes by providing trusted, actionable programs for patients and their caregivers. We know from experience that to truly move the needle and improve community health, you must engage and educate all parties – not just clinicians. We’re grateful to have Kathryn guide our team as we grow our patient education initiatives, to do just that.”
