The Junior Data Engineer will contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure. Responsible for monitoring ETL processes, ensuring data quality, supporting data requests, and developing dashboards and reports for a range of stakeholders. Ideal for data-oriented individuals passionate about extracting value from data on a collaborative team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Reports and Dashboards: Utilize visualization tools to create insightful reports and intuitive dashboards, presenting data-driven insights to stakeholders, and aiding informed decision-making processes within the organization.
- Execute SQL Queries: Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data, supporting ad-hoc requests and reporting needs, ensuring efficient data retrieval and accuracy for diverse business requirements.
- Python-SQL Integration: Utilize Python scripting to support data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis, thereby supporting diverse data requests and facilitating Python-based data operations within the organization’s data stack.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, encapsulated business logic, and data dictionaries.
Requirements:
- One to three years of working with data and supporting stakeholder reporting needs
- Experience with BI tools like Tableau, PowerBI, Superset, or related offerings.
- Demonstrated fluency in utilizing MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to support stakeholder reporting needs.
- Demonstrated experience using Python and SQL for data manipulation, and processing data in python using libraries like pandas.
- Experience working in a professional software environment using source control (git), an issue tracker (JIRA, Confluence, etc.), code reviews, and agile development process.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud computing resources (e.g. AWS, GCP)
- Exposure or coursework related to analytics and machine learning
- Experience interfacing with APIs using Python or other programming languages
